Great post! By the way, your link doesn't work because it accidentally has an extra http:// at the beginning. :)

Great post! You are quite right - keeping junk we don't use is anything but frugal. Clearing clutter feels fantastic. It's always a good idea to go through and re-evaluate why we have what we do and if it's still working for us. I've been working on our closet, but you've inspired me to head to the kitchen next. Thanks! Have a great day,

Found your blog from Ladies Against Feminism - just wanted to chime in that I did this very thing today! Ended up having an entire cupboard entirely empty!! I moved Appliances that I use occasionally but not enough to justify having out on the counter or being eye sores on top of the cabinets into the newly emptied space and started arranging some plants, vases and a few other things where the appliances had been - I think this is actually my first real attempt at trying to make our hope attractive, not just trying to manage clutter and shift it in an organized way to another spot.

It IS hard getting rid of those little containers, though, isn't it? But I went through the exact same reasoning as you did.

I enjoy your posts, thanks for sharing!

Ah yes...toxic frugality. I had a good case of that early on. And then I got over it. I do love Goodwill, not only because its a fabulous place to shop but because its so great to be able to take things there and unload all my claustrophobia. Fabulous feeling. Plus, isn't it great to actually make your home useful and the spaces in your home pleasant? Heaven knows there are gobs of people you can touch by sending stuff that's perfectly good but not getting used to Goodwill. I know for my family growing up there so many countless times that Mama found something wonderful at Goodwill she could never have afforded to buy and thanked God that somebody was willing to clean out their cupboards. I think of that everytime I take a load down there.
