		<description>The main reason my husband always opposed homeschooling our kids was that they are Japanese, raised in Japan. I am not Japanese, and therefore incapable of socializing them &quot;the Japanese way.&quot; I thought this was hogwash at first, but after many years, I now realize he had a great point. I knew I would not be able to teach them Japanese language past a certain point, but I also admit I would not have been able to teach them the consensus-building upon which much of this country&#039;s society rests, as well as some of the nuances of Japanese manners, such as ALWAYS greeting your elders first, before they speak to you. Japanese school has been just as much a socializing experience for me as for the kids!</description>
